Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University (NNSPU) was founded in 1911 as Nizhny Novgorod Teachers Institute. In 1918 it was reorganised into NN Pedagogical Institute.

In 1987 the Institute was awarded the order of the Red Labour Banner by the USSR Supreme Soviet Act for its achievements in training school teachers. In 1993 The Institute was reorganised into Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University. Today the University is one of the leading higher pedagogical institutions in Russia.

For 80 years the University has trained over 50000 specialists in Education. Among the University graduates there are many outstanding scientists, politicians, diplomats, well-known professors and educators.

Education, astronomy, chemistry, educational psychology, history of Russia, the Russian language, the teaching methods of Russian, philosophy, environmental education, world literature, Russian literature are the leading research directions of the University.

Education of foreigners at pedagogical university started in 1995 and continues at the preparatory department and the academic study course.

If provides

Classes of the Russian language (36 hours a week in the 1st semester and 18 hours a week in the 2nd semester)

Classes in special subjects – chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics, computer studies, drawing and others (18 hours a week in the 2nd semester).

Classes in these subjects are led by professors and university teachers.

On completing the course of studies at the preparatory department foreign students are enlisted to any faculty of Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University or any other higher educational establishment on the speciality chosen by a student.

The course of studies, based on secondary education lasts 4 - 5 years (except the years of studies at the preparatory department).

Training in different subject areas is carried out both in special groups for foreigners (3 – 5 students) and in the groups of Russian students.

The following documents should be enclosed (with certified translation into Russian):

General Certificate of Secondary Education.

Medical certificate: (AIDS certificate, international certificate of vaccination, notary certificate).

Eight photographs.

Passport.

Visa.

The University provides the hostel and free medical care for foreign students. The dining room, gymnasiums, the library, the reading-hall, laboratories are at foreign students disposal. Student group consist of 4 – 8 students. All foreign students get grants fixed by the law of the Russian Federation.

I'm Syrian and i need to study english language because i need to take ILETS Exam

Do you have courses in english language (ILETS),and do you provide me with student Visa! if So please tell me how much does it cost!and duration of this course!

hi id like to get fluent in russian and chinesese mandarin. i worked and lived in russia 1990s taught myself russian i worked 18-20 hours everday and memorized 25-30 verbs every danightin bed but never had classes tolearn properly especially grammar. i applied to fefu a couple years got accepted but russia then closed borders due to covid so i couldnt go. then i thought who else teaches russian and attended a ukranian university got a smester done then war broke out in ukraine and i couldnt finish due to war. im not political about it i like russians and ukranians both. though been delayed everal years now id finally like to finish and get fluent in russian. id like to ask you 5 questions 1)how can i pay you when russian not on swift my bank only uses swift? in ukraine i paid cash in person 2) can i take chinese and german maybe portugueeses or italia also there like second year and 3rd year i speak spanish and english fluently i live in panama now 3) whet requirments do you have for covid the wester vaccines have killed so many people 4) do you have age limt? im 62 neither ukraine nor fefu had a age limit so they let me in-- dont think learnin stops at 22 but i love learning at any age in ukraine i got a 4 on first semester i can learn still i wont slow anyone down when young i graduated harvard graduate school my brain still works though ive been in accidents where brain had trauma. 5) because im older can i rent own place not stay in dorm? thank you for answering.
